Senior Microbiologist – Cosmetic Manufacturing (3+ Years Experience) | HCP Wellness, Ahmedabad

HCP Wellness is hiring an experienced Senior Microbiologist for its cosmetic manufacturing facility in Bavla, Ahmedabad. The candidate will lead microbiological testing, environmental monitoring, laboratory documentation and quality-compliance activities to ensure the safety and quality of cosmetic and personal care products.

Key Responsibilities
✔Lead microbiological testing of raw materials, process water, bulk products and finished goods.
✔Conduct microbial limit, total viable count, yeast, mould and specified pathogen testing.
✔Review microbiological results for skincare, hair care, oral care, toothpaste and personal care products.
✔Manage environmental monitoring of laboratory, production, filling and storage areas.
✔Oversee sampling and microbiological testing of purified and manufacturing water systems.
✔Prepare and control culture media, reference cultures, growth-promotion tests and sterilization activities.
✔Support preservative-efficacy testing, stability studies and microbiological method validation.
✔Investigate OOS results, deviations and contamination incidents and implement appropriate CAPA.
✔Maintain microbiology worksheets, logbooks, test reports, SOPs and other controlled documents.
✔Ensure calibration, qualification and maintenance of microbiology laboratory equipment.
✔Support regulatory, customer, internal and external quality audits.
✔Coordinate with QA, QC, Production and R&D teams and guide junior laboratory employees.

Required Skills
✔Strong knowledge of cosmetic and personal care microbiology.
✔Hands-on experience with microbial limit and pathogen testing.
✔Expertise in aseptic techniques, media preparation and culture handling.
✔Knowledge of environmental monitoring and water-system microbiology.
✔Working knowledge of GMP, GLP, SOPs and data-integrity requirements.
✔Experience with OOS investigations, root-cause analysis, deviations and CAPA.
✔Ability to operate autoclaves, incubators, laminar airflow units and colony counters.
✔Strong laboratory documentation and analytical-review skills.
✔Team-coordination, problem-solving and time-management abilities.
✔Good written and verbal communication skills.

Educational Qualification
✔B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Microbiology from a recognized university.
✔Minimum 3 years of relevant microbiology experience in cosmetics, personal care, pharmaceuticals, FMCG or a related manufacturing industry.
✔Previous experience in a cosmetic or personal care manufacturing facility is preferred.
