HCP Wellness Private Limited is hiring for the position of Quality Control Executive – Skincare & Cosmetic Packaging Testing based in Bavla.
Job Summary
HCP Wellness Private Limited is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Quality Control Executive – Skincare & Cosmetic Packaging Testing to join our QC team in Ahmedabad. The role involves end-to-end quality inspection and testing of packaging materials used in skincare creams, lotions, serums, shampoos, conditioners, toothpaste, and oral care products. The ideal candidate will have a background in chemistry, life sciences, or pharmacy, and will be responsible for ensuring all incoming packaging materials — including plastic containers, tubes, jars, laminate pouches, cartons, and labels — meet defined quality standards before entering production.
This is an ideal quality control job for B.Sc. / M.Sc. Chemistry or B.Pharm freshers looking to build a career in the cosmetic and personal care manufacturing industry in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect, sample, and test incoming packaging materials for skincare and cosmetic products — including HDPE/PET bottles, airless pump bottles, jars, tubes, caps, laminates, cartons, and printed labels — as per approved quality specifications.
Perform physical testing on packaging materials: GSM testing, burst strength test, seal integrity test, drop test, compression test, torque test, closure performance, and dimensional verification using standard instruments.
Verify printing quality, colour matching, text accuracy, and barcode readability on labels, cartons, and outer packaging as per artwork approvals.
Maintain detailed Incoming Quality Control (IQC) inspection records, test reports, Certificates of Analysis (CoA), and Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) for all received packaging materials.
Compare physical and chemical properties of packaging materials against approved BOQ (Bill of Quantity), master samples, and applicable IS / BIS / ASTM standards.
Coordinate with the procurement, store, and production teams for timely disposition of packaging materials — accept, reject, or hold — with documented justification.
Monitor and maintain proper storage conditions and FIFO (First In, First Out) compliance for approved packaging materials in the warehouse.
Ensure packaging materials used in skincare, hair care, and oral care products meet cosmetic industry regulatory requirements including BIS, Schedule M, and export market standards as applicable.
Participate in vendor qualification, packaging development trials, and new supplier sample evaluations to support the NPD (New Product Development) and procurement teams.
Maintain calibration status and records of lab instruments including vernier calipers, GSM balance, torque meter, and seal strength tester.
Support internal GMP audits, customer audits, and third-party quality inspections by maintaining up-to-date QC documentation and audit-ready records.
Contribute to reduction of packaging material rejection rates through root cause analysis (RCA) and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Required Skills
Knowledge of skincare and cosmetic packaging types: primary packaging (bottles, jars, tubes, pumps, sachets) and secondary packaging (cartons, shippers, labels, inserts, sleeves).
Understanding of packaging material testing methods — physical, mechanical, and chemical — for plastics, laminates, glass, and paper-based materials.
Familiarity with quality standards: BIS, IS, ASTM, and GMP guidelines applicable to cosmetic and FMCG packaging.
Hands-on ability to operate lab instruments: vernier caliper, GSM balance, torque meter, burst strength tester, seal tester, and analytical balance.
Strong documentation skills — ability to write clear test reports, NCRs, CoAs, and maintain audit-ready QC records.
Eye for detail with high accuracy in visual inspection, printing verification, and dimensional measurement.
Good communication skills in English and Hindi; Gujarati is an advantage for local vendor coordination.
Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word for data entry, MIS reporting, and QC trend analysis.
Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team in a manufacturing environment.
Awareness of cosmetic regulatory compliance, labelling requirements (FDA, BIS), and packaging sustainability trends is a plus.
