HCP Wellness Private Limited is hiring for the position of QC Officer – Packaging Material Testing in Cosmetic Manufacturing based in Bavla.
We are hiring a QC Officer – Packaging Material Testing to inspect and test all incoming packaging materials at our Bavla cosmetic manufacturing facility. The role covers primary packaging (bottles, jars, tubes, pumps) and secondary packaging (cartons, labels, laminates) used across skincare, hair care, oral care, and toothpaste product lines.

Key Responsibilities
Inspect and sample incoming packaging materials as per AQL sampling plan.
Perform physical tests: GSM, burst strength, drop test, torque, seal integrity, and dimension checks.
Verify print quality, colour, barcodes, and label text against approved artwork.
Maintain IQC records, test reports, CoA, and Non-Conformance Reports (NCR).
Compare materials against approved specifications and issue Accept / Reject / Hold decisions.
Coordinate with procurement and production teams for material disposition.
Ensure rejected materials are quarantined and properly labelled.
Monitor FIFO compliance and storage conditions in the warehouse.
Support NPD packaging trials and supplier sample evaluations.
Maintain calibration records for lab instruments.
Assist in GMP audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections.
Prepare daily and weekly QC rejection and vendor quality reports.
Required Skills
Knowledge of cosmetic packaging types: bottles, jars, tubes, laminates, cartons, labels.
Basic understanding of packaging tests: physical, mechanical, and visual inspection.
Familiarity with BIS, IS, ASTM, GMP, and cosmetic industry quality standards.
Ability to read BOQs, TDS, and approved artwork specifications.
Hands-on use of QC instruments: caliper, GSM balance, torque meter, seal tester.
Strong documentation skills: NCRs, CoAs, test reports, audit checklists.
Sharp eye for surface defects, print errors, and dimensional deviations.
Proficient in MS Excel and MS Word for reporting and data entry.
Team player with attention to detail and ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
Educational Qualification
B.Sc. – Chemistry / Analytical Chemistry / Microbiology / Life Sciences (Mandatory)
M.Sc. – Chemistry / Pharmaceutical Chemistry / Quality Management (Preferred)
B.Pharm / D.Pharm – Eligible with interest in cosmetic QC
Diploma in Packaging Technology / Quality Assurance (Added Advantage)
GMP, ISO 9001, or Cosmetic Regulatory Affairs certification is a plus
