QC Executive – Packaging Material Testing Fresher

We are hiring a QC Executive – Packaging Material Testing to join our Quality Control team at our Ahmedabad manufacturing plant. The selected candidate will be responsible for inspecting, testing, and approving primary and secondary packaging materials including bottles, jars, tubes, laminates, cartons, and labels used in skincare, hair care, oral care, and toothpaste products.

Key Responsibilities
Inspect and test incoming packaging materials including plastic bottles, jars, tubes, laminate pouches, cartons, labels, and caps as per defined specifications.
Perform physical and chemical tests such as GSM testing, burst strength, drop test, seal integrity, torque test, and dimension checks on packaging materials.
Maintain and update Incoming Quality Control (IQC) records, test reports, and non-conformance reports (NCR) accurately.
Compare packaging material properties against approved specifications and BOQ (Bill of Quantity) before releasing for production use.
Coordinate with the procurement and production teams regarding material rejections, deviations, and vendor quality issues.
Ensure all packaging materials comply with BIS, IS, ASTM, and company quality standards applicable to cosmetic and personal care products.
Maintain calibration records and ensure all testing instruments (vernier caliper, GSM balance, torque meter, etc.) are in proper working condition.
Participate in vendor development activities by evaluating packaging material samples from new suppliers.
Support the QA team during internal audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections (e.g., GMP, ISO audits).
Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), SOPs, and safety guidelines at all times within the factory premises.
Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly QC reports to the QC Manager.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for reducing packaging material rejections and improving quality efficiency.

Required Skills & Competencies
Basic knowledge of packaging material testing methods and quality control procedures in FMCG or cosmetics manufacturing.
Familiarity with packaging types: primary (bottles, jars, tubes, caps) and secondary (cartons, shipper boxes, labels, inserts).
Understanding of quality standards such as IS, BIS, ASTM, and GMP guidelines.
Ability to use testing instruments: GSM scale, vernier caliper, torque meter, seal tester, and lab balances.
Proficiency in documenting test results, maintaining quality records, and preparing NCR reports.
Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Good communication skills in English and Hindi (Gujarati preferred).
Basic computer skills — MS Word, MS Excel for data entry and report preparation.
Team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of cosmetic product packaging compliance and labelling regulations is an added advantage.

Educational Qualification
B.Sc. in Chemistry / Microbiology / Life Sciences / Analytical Chemistry
M.Sc. in Chemistry / Quality Management / Analytical Science (preferred)
B.Pharm / D.Pharm (candidates with QC interest are eligible)
Diploma in Packaging Technology or Quality Control will be an added advantage
