Job Overview
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Fragrance Specialist to develop, evaluate, and manage fragrance profiles across a wide range of personal care products. The ideal candidate will blend art and science to deliver unique, consumer-preferred fragrance experiences that enhance product appeal and align with brand identity.
Key Responsibilities
✔Collaborate with product development, R&D, and marketing teams to create and recommend fragrance compositions for skin care, cosmetics, and oral care products.
✔Evaluate and select suitable fragrance oils from suppliers, ensuring compatibility with product bases and compliance with IFRA and regulatory guidelines.
✔Conduct sensory evaluation, olfactory testing, and stability assessments.
✔Coordinate fragrance sampling, testing, and documentation throughout the product development cycle.
✔Stay updated with market trends, consumer preferences, and emerging fragrance technologies.
✔Maintain a fragrance library and ensure proper documentation of trials and evaluations.
✔Communicate with fragrance houses and raw material vendors for sampling and pricing negotiations.
Qualifications
Education & Certifications
✔BSC, MSC/ Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, Perfumery, or related field.
✔Certification in fragrance technology or perfumery from a recognized institute (preferred).
Hard Skills
✔In-depth knowledge of fragrance creation, notes, and formulation principles.
✔Understanding of IFRA standards, allergen declarations, and global regulatory requirements.
✔Experience in analytical techniques like GC-MS (preferred).
✔Proficiency in documentation, MS Office, and formulation software.
Soft Skills
✔Strong sensory and olfactory capabilities.
✔Creativity with a passion for scents and product aesthetics.
✔Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
✔Detail-oriented with strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
✔Ability to work cross-functionally in a collaborative R&D environment.
Preferred Experience
✔2–5 years of relevant experience in fragrance development within the personal care or cosmetic manufacturing industry.
✔Hands-on experience with vendor coordination and multi-brand fragrance portfolios.
